Assistive technologies level the playing field for students with disabilities. It helps students work around their challenges and provide sorely needed accommodations in the classroom and at home for student's success. They can run the gamut from very simple, like organizers, to high tech, like the two highly specialized examples in my slide show below.
Using assistive technologies satisfies the ISTE Standards for Teachers 4b, which states: Address the diverse needs of all learners by using learner-centered strategies providing equitable access to appropriate digital tools and resources.
